Paradise Honors High School Introduces Josh Sekoch as New Head Football Coach
Surprise Arizona – 12/17/2024 – The Paradise Honors High School Panthers are excited to announce the hiring of Josh Sekoch as the new head football coach. Coach Sekoch brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to the program, and we are thrilled to welcome him to our organization.
Josh Sekoch comes to the Panthers from Youngker High School, setting a record for the most victories in the school's history. Josh has been a head coach for seventeen years, and before Youngker High School, he was the head coach for Valley Vista High School. His teams played at the 6A level, making six playoff appearances and winning 55 games. Coach Sekoch was also the head coach at Shadow Mountain High School, guiding the team through their transition from 3A to 5A. He is known for creating a positive and competitive team culture that drives success on and off the field. He has a proven track record of developing players' skills and fostering a winning mindset. Coach Sekoch is committed to fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.
"First and foremost, I'm excited to lead the Panther football program. Second, I want to continue to build the program into the best football program in Surprise and continue to be a playoff contender each year. Our vision is to Win Today. We know we have a challenge moving up to 4A, but that is precisely why I wanted to lead this program," said Josh Sekoch.
"Not only does Coach Sekoch bring close ties to our Surprise community, but he has a track record of opening doors for student-athletes in post-secondary opportunities. I couldn't be more thrilled to have him join us in the classroom and on the football field," said PHHS Principal Dr. Gina Garcia.
"I've known Coach Sekoch for a long time, and I am so excited to have him join our staff. His expertise and knowledge will make an instant impact on our program" said Athletic Director Ben Clark.
Darcy Weisner, Executive Director, added, "We are pleased to have Josh Sekoch at the helm of our football program. With his extensive background and passion for the game, we believe he will elevate our team's performance and create a positive environment for our players. We are also excited to have Josh Sekoch as a teacher on our high school campus working with our exceptional students."
The Panthers began an extensive search for a new head coach after Coach Goodloe stepped down after the Fall 2024 football season. The goal was to find a leader who embodies the values and vision of Paradise Honors High School, and we believe we have found that in Josh Sekoch.
Josh Sekoch has accepted a full-time teaching position at Paradise Honors High School and will start on January 6, 2025. Athletic Director Mr. Ben Clark will coordinate student-athlete and parent meetings once school resumes on January 6, 2025.
