Coach Laing, receivers coach, is entering his third season at Paradise Honors, and 19 th season as
a Varsity coach. Prior to joining Coach Goodloe’s staff, Coach Laing coached at Desert Edge,
Millennium, Mountain Ridge, Valley Vista, and Willow Canyon. Coach Laing is a local product
having played RB, WR, and DB for Arizona Hall of Fame Football Coach Earl Putman at Moon
Valley High School, graduating in 1980. Coach Laing retired from the Peoria Police Department
after 25 ½ years of service, where he spent 20 ½ years as a Violent Crimes Detective,
specializing in arson, robbery, and homicide cases. Currently Coach Laing is working as an
Investigator with the Maricopa County, Office of the Public Defender. Coach Laing and his wife
Carol have two daughters, a son, and three grandchildren.
