As another season of Panthers Basketball is upon us, what better way to open the season than a win in their first game of the season the Volunteers of Lee Williams. That's exactly what the Panthers did as they took down Lee Williams 62-47. Coach Atkinson said postgame, "We did a great job battling through the adversity," which is exactly what the Panthers had to do as the Volunteers cut the lead down to five in the third quarter. After that, the Panthers started to pull away. Christian DuBrey contributed 18 points, and David Leszcynski came away with 20, 6 of those coming from the free-throw line. Paradise Honors spent a lot of time in the bonus, 2 of the 4 quarters, as the Volunteers got into foul trouble.
The Panthers move to 1-0 in the season and have a three-game road trip throughout December.
They will be back home on December 17.
